Authenticity of ratings
In order to leave a review on our website, a registered user account is required.
Customers can only leave reviews for products that they have purchased from us.
The review is therefore only approved after a successful purchase.
We use various mechanisms to check incoming reviews:
- Automatic checking mechanisms:
- Word filter: We use an automated filter to recognize reviews with certain terms such as offensive, racist or promotional at an early stage and not to publish them.
- Hazard warnings in the filter: Our word filter also recognizes terms such as “allergy” or “injury” to identify potential sources of danger.
- Manual review: Every incoming review is reviewed manually.
We check the content for logical inconsistencies and other anomalies. - Customer-initiated review: Visitors to our site can report suspicious reviews and optionally give reasons.
- Random checks: We carry out regular checks of individual assessments according to the same standards.
We subject reviews with anomalies to a detailed manual check.
All filtered or reported reviews are subjected to both our review guidelines and a plausibility check.
During the plausibility check, we look at the customer’s entire review behavior as well as the review metadata such as IP address and date.
We check whether there is a temporal connection between the purchase and the review and whether there are any contradictions in terms of content to ensure that the customer has actually used the product.
Example: A review is submitted before the product has been received or there are discrepancies regarding the period of use.
We contact the authors of suspicious reviews to verify their information if necessary.
If the circumstances are clarified, we will adjust the rating accordingly.
Unclear or vague circumstances will result in the review not being published or further displayed.
